A look forward from 2020

2020 was a rollercoaster for the vast majority of people. It was likely the most challenging, stressful, invigorating and finally, rewarding year that I have experienced since I started this business.

The decision to make reinteractive 100% remote work a decade ago once again proved itself to be one of the smartest management choices I have made, and I’m forever grateful that we have this luxury at reinteractive.

Despite rolling closures across states, closed borders, cities under lockdown, and even some of our staff contracting COVID-19 and heading in and out of quarantine, our operations were largely unaffected and our staff remained fully employed.

And while it was definitely not easy and one of the most challenging things I have achieved, I bet everything on our team's ability to deliver. I leaned into this crisis with everything I had and successfully navigated 2020 without having to let go any staff - something I am very proud of and happy for.

As business now resumes and we all adjust to the new normal, we have an influx of new work and now we are hiring once again to grow our developer pool and meet our client’s needs. In fact we have welcomed several new, amazing members to our team.

We are still a leader in Rails development and hosting. The projects we are able to complete for our clients, with the amazing work by our developers, continues to delight and at times surprise me.

We are consolidating our position as the APAC leader for custom Salesforce Heroku integrations. Our technical skill and ability to deliver timely and effective integrations sets us apart in the region.

storeConnect eCommerce has launched in a major way and matured in the past year.

• New major stores launched including Sharp Australia, Stoddart, Frozen the Musical with many more on the cusp of going live.
• Industry leading integrations with Salesforce CPQ.
• Subscription and membership management and stock control features.
• Performance improvements for page display and search to make it one of the fastest loading eCommerce systems available.
• Over 33 new partners enabled across 4 continents.
• Our help site created for our users and partners to launch their own stores.

And so we look to the future with our customers, our partners and our friends. We have a bright road ahead with big plans for our Ruby on Rails development, Salesforce Heroku integration and new storeConnect features in the coming year.

It has been rewarding partnering with you, overcoming the challenges of 2020. I look forward to helping you grow again in 2021.
